Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden ("The Botanics") is a major tourist attraction as well as a favourite place to relax for many of
the Capital's citizens. The Garden is constantly evolving with areas being redeveloped on a regular basis.
In 2002 the Edinburgh Construction Group was approached to build a bridge over a recently extended water feature, with a
budget £22K. The bridge, resting on concrete foundations, was completed in 8 weeks from natural stone with two of the ECG's
most experienced stone masons carrying out the work.
Other ongoing work for the Botanics includes the construction of a gabion wall (to support an earth bank) within their nursery
area and the manufacture of office furniture, made to measure in our joinery workshop.

The company became involved in this project at the 11th hour. Work commenced
on 26th November 2005 and was completed by 4th January 2006. The contract
value was £233K and the work consisted of completely fitting out an empty
industrial unit including sound studios, air conditioning, the formation of offices,
toilets, etc.
The company was commended by both the client and the architect.

The brief for this property in Cameron Toll, Edinburgh, was to demolish a
neglected Victorian Greenhouse and replace it with a new conservatory and
kitchen, built on the same base.

The Edinburgh Construction Group was responsible for all the major works
including the very high specification leaded roof with its exposed internal
trusses in this £90K project.
The made-to-measure kitchen, with its Kirkstone (granite) worktops, was
manufactured in our joinery workshop, as were the windows. The kitchen
features an attractive cherry veneer.
