The Edinburgh Construction Group: Manufacturing Joinery Workshop

The Edinburgh Construction Group is fairly unique in that we have our own manufacturing joinery workshop staffed with experienced
machine men and bench hands. We also employ eight apprentices to help us to keep this skill base within the company.

This 2500 square foot facility, which was purchased in 2001, allows us to manufacture all sorts of high quality wood products, many of
which are unavailable off-the-shelf. We make all our made-to-measure doors, windows, staircases, furniture and kitchens as well as
other timber components that might be required. We also manufacture for other contractors.

The other advantage is the speed with which our wood products can be produced. Many items can be manufactured during, or even prior
to the start of the building works, allowing us to complete many of our projects more quickly than our competitors.

Over the past 2 to 3 years, the company has branched-out into larger commercial projects, such as hotels, involving component
manufacture on a much larger scale.

To ensure the continuity of our supplies, we use mainly European redwoods and a variety of North American timbers, working with
architects to employ sustainable materials wherever possible.
